Report: CNN Has Its Short List of Potential Morning Anchors

CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker is getting closer to picking a co-anchor for the network’s newly made-over morning show, reports TVNewser.

One of the top names on the short list is Kate Bolduan, the network’s congressional correspondent. She has recently been anchoring with Wolf Blitzer on "The Situation Room."

Bolduan started at CNN in 2007 as a correspondent for CNN Newsource, after working as a reporter for WTVD-TV in Raleigh, N.C.

Another name in the running is Christi Paul, who has been an anchor at HLN for 10 years, the piece adds.

“One of Zucker’s first moves as CNN Worldwide president was to do away with the 14-month-old ‘Starting Point’ anchored by Soledad O’Brien,” the report notes. “Chris Cuomo departed ABC News in January to anchor the new CNN morning show.”

Veteran Jim Murphy will executive produce the new morning show.
