NBC got some good ratings news Monday night as the season premiere of “The Voice” pushed the Peacock Network to a nightly win, based on Nielsen overnights.

TVbytheNumbers.com reports that the two-hour opener for “The Voice” averaged a 4.7 rating in the key 18-49 demo — up from a 4.2 for last fall’s premiere but well below the 6.7 delivered by the opener last spring. Leading out from “The Voice,” “Revolution” settled for a 2.7, off two-tenths of a point from the previous original episode, which aired back in November.

NBC capitalized with a comfortable win for prime time overall, with its average rating of 4.0 in viewers 18-49 placing it well ahead of CBS (2.4 average), ABC (2.2) and Fox (2.1). ABC did take the win in total viewers with 12.9 million, topping NBC (11.3 million), CBS (7.8 million) and Fox (6.7 million).

Airing opposite “The Voice,” ABC’s two-hour “Dancing with the Stars” took a hit, averaging a 2.3 rating in 18-49, down nine-tenths from last week. “Castle” was also down, slipping one-tenth to a 2.1.

Fox saw “The Following” sink to a series low, losing two-tenths from last week for a 2.3 in the 18-49 demo. “Bones” lost two-tenths as well, settling for a 1.9.

CBS had a couple of unwelcome milestones — a season-low 2.7 in viewers 18-49 for “How I Met Your Mother” (down three-tenths from a week ago) and a season-low 2.1 for “Rules of Engagement” (down two-tenths). “Hawaii Five-0” was also down, off one-tenth to a 2.0, while both “2 Broke Girls” (2.9 average, up one-tenth) and “Mike & Molly” (2.6, up two-tenths) improved.
