Former CNBC and MSNBC anchor Dylan Ratigan has discovered a second act after leaving cable news, reports TVNewser.

Ratigan wrote about his new life on his blog, noting that after leaving television he moved to San Diego County to work on a hydroponic organic farm.

Now he’s creating a "farm incubator," using money he earned for writing "Greedy Bastards" and a loan from Whole Foods.

"The process alone has restored meaning and purpose in my life, my health and spirit have taken on a renewed vitality and, because of my time with you, I have had the opportunity and privilege to literally put my money where my mouth is," he wrote on his blog.

His new career will be highlighted today (Thursday) on ABC’s "The Chew" at 1 p.m. ET and on Friday on MSNBC at 4 p.m. ET, he wrote.

  1. I am developing a model village (40 acres 100 adults) to provide employment and opportunity for those who have become unemployable in our economy, including veterans. I would like to contact Dylan to exchange ideas. Hydroponic gardening is part of the business plan for the village.
