With Hulu’s Jason Kilar preparing to vacate his position as CEO at the end of the month, the online streaming company has named Andy Forssell, senior vice president of content, to serve as acting chief executive, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The announcement was made in a blog posting by Kilar that was addressed to employees.

"You know Andy well; he’s been a critical senior executive and has been here from the start of this great adventure," Kilar wrote. "Andy exemplifies the Hulu culture and has been central to Hulu’s journey, helping to grow this company from 2 content partners and no revenue to over 450 content partners and approximately $700 million revenue in 2012."

Forssell has been working on building Hulu’s original offerings, THR notes. Before joining Hulu, Forssell worked at Siebel Systems and Oracle Corp.
