Dominant Night in the Ratings for NBC, Even as Drama Series Sinks to Record Low TVbytheNumbers
NBC cruised to a big ratings win in the key 18-49 demo Monday night, even as a key NBC drama series hit a new low. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that the Peacock’s two-hour “The Voice” turned in a dominant 4.6 average, based on Nielsen overnights -- easily the top show of the night, even though it slipped 4% from last week’s premiere.
The bad news for NBC came from “Revolution,” which lost 12% from a week ago to a 2.3 average in 18-49 -- the lowest number for the series to date.
With CBS airing all repeats -- and finishing fifth for prime time overall in viewers 18-49 -- NBC was the runaway leader with a 3.9 average for prime time, followed by ABC (2.2 average), Fox (2.1), Univision (1.5) and CBS (1.2). ABC came out on top in total viewers with 13.1 million, ahead of NBC (10.9 million), Fox (6.7 million), CBS (4.8 million) and Univision (3.7 million).
ABC’s two-hour “Dancing with the Stars” equaled its all-time low with a 2.1 average in the 18-49 demo, losing 13% from last week. “Castle” was up 5% with a 2.2.
Fox’s “The Following” also set a series low, delivering a 2.2 -- 4% off the pace from last week. “Bones” ticked up 5% to a 2.0.
