Apr 23, 2013  •  Post A Comment

Forbes staff writer Jeff Bercovici has compiled a list of the billionaires who will likely bid for the Los Angeles Times newspaper, and has estimated the odds of them actually getting the paper.

First, the players. According to the article, they are Charles and David Koch, Rupert Murdoch, Eli Broad and Ron Burkle, David Geffen, and Warren Buffett.

Here’s how Bercovici handicaps each billionaire’s chances:

The Koch brothers — Even odds

Rupert Murdoch — 3 to 1 against

Eli Broad and Ron Burkle — 4 to 1 against

David Geffen — 20:1

Warren Buffett — 50:1

We urge you to click on the link above and read the reasons Bercovici handicaps each of the players as he has.
