HBO Films is working on an adaptation of the book "The Man Who Walked Around the World," which is about David Kunst’s feat of becoming the first person to circumnavigate the globe by foot, reports Deadline.com.

After the Apollo moon landing, Kunst and his brother John started their world tour from Minnesota in June 1970. More than four years later, Kunst returned to Minnesota — without his brother, who was killed by bandits in Afghanistan in 1972, the story says.

Kunst was later joined by his other brother, Pete, and the two finished the tour together.

Robert Connolly of "Underground: The Julian Assange Story," is on board to write and direct.
