A new National Geographic series set a ratings record this week for the cable network. Deadline.com reports that the show "Brain Games" drew 1.5 million viewers on Monday, marking the highest-rated series debut ever for the network.

The show had already been renewed — before its debut — and is scheduled to start production on the second season this summer. The program provides interactive games and experiments "designed to mess with your mind," according to the channel’s website.

Separately, E!’s new program "What Would Ryan Lochte Do?" got off to a slow start, with an average of 807,000 viewers for the reality series, the story says. That was about half of its lead-in, which was a special about the Kardashians.
