Reality Star Apologizes for Boston Bombing Tweet LA Times
A tweet sent just after the Boston Marathon bombing landed a reality television star in hot water. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that Cousin Anthony, the star of TLC's "Cake Boss," apologized after sending out a tweet that blamed foreign-born "animals" for "attacking us."
Anthony, whose real name is Anthony Bellifemine, also tweeted: "We even pay for them to go to school hows that!”
“The message was quickly denounced online, including by some of Bellifemine's 25,000 followers,” the story notes. “He attacked one critic for her ‘typical liberal attitude.’"
President Obama has called the Boston bombing an "act of terrorism," although it's unclear who is responsible. The FBI is asking the public for tips about anyone who may have been carrying a heavy black bag near the finish line, reports the Boston Globe.
Cousin Anthony issued his apology Tuesday. "I apologize for my remarks following the Boston bombings," he tweeted. "My anger got the best of me. I continue to pray for all those affected."
