Well-Known Judge to Remain On-Air Through 2017 THR
A judge who is a fixture of daytime television has signed a multiyear deal to remain on the air for at least 21 seasons. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that "Judge Judy" star Judy Sheindlin signed with CBS Television Distribution to continue the syndicated show through 2017.
The announcement wasn't surprising, given that the show averages more than 9 million daily viewers, making it the most-watched show in daytime.
The story adds, "Similarly impressive, the show has spent 860 consecutive weeks -- since its debut on Sept. 16, 1996 -- as the top-rated half-hour syndicated court show on TV."
