Fox’s singing competition “The X Factor” is dumping one of its regular cast members. The network confirmed that it is scrapping co-host Khloe Kardashian, the New York Post reports.

Co-host Mario Lopez will be back. The show’s producers released a statement saying: “Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host ‘The X Factor.’ We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.”

Simon Cowell said in a statement: “I’m thrilled Mario is back for Season Three of ‘The X Factor.’ Hosting a live show and keeping the judges — especially Demi [Lovato] — in line, is not an easy job, but Mario is a pro and we are glad he’s coming back.”

The Post notes: “Kardashian came to the show with no TV hosting experience and often appeared nervous and unprepared on camera.”

The piece notes that it is unclear whether a new co-host will be named, or whether Lopez will remain as a solo host.

“So far, Cowell and Lovato are coming back to judge contestants for season three,” the report adds. “Britney Spears exited the show in January and L.A. Reid bailed in December.”
