After Intense Negotiations, Stars of CBS Drama Agree to Return, Leading to Show's Renewal Deadline
After a week of "intense negotiations, a couple of deadlines and best and final offers," the five leads of the CBS drama series "Criminal Minds" have all signed new two-year deals, leading to a ninth-season renewal from CBS, reports Nellie Andreeva at Deadline.com.
As previously reported, two key cast members -- Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook, who play Penelope Garcia and Jennifer "JJ" Jareau, respectively -- were ready to walk while they negotiated for higher pay.
While the two didn't quite get salary parity with their male counterparts, Shemar Moore and Matthew Gubler, they both received sizable pay bumps, Andreeva writes.
The other stars who signed new deals are Moore, Thomas Gibson and Joe Mantegna, the piece says.
