CBS Leads Daytime Emmy Nominations

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, with CBS leading all networks with 49 nods.

PBS snared 44 nominations, followed by ABC with 38, Nickelodeon with 36 and NBC with 25. Syndicated programming received 37 nods.

Among individual programs, “The Young and the Restless” leads the way with 23 nominations, followed by “General Hospital” with 19, “Sesame Street” and “Days of Our Lives” with 17 apiece, “The Bold and the Beautiful” with 15 and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” with 10.

The Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards will be presented Sunday, June 16, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and will be televised live on HLN.

In addition, the Daytime Entertainment Creative Arts Emmy Awards Gala will be held at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles on Friday, June 14.

Game Show icon Monty Hall and legendary producer Bob Stewart will receive Lifetime Achievement Awards.
