CNN Executive -- Who Is Also a Former News Director of a Major New York TV Station -- Is Leaving CNN TVNewser

A top CNN executive is leaving the cable news channel, with CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker writing in a memo to staff that CNN senior vice president of current programming Bart Feder "decided that it is time to move on and take his career in a new direction,” reports TVNewser.

"Bart Feder and I have been in discussions over the last couple of weeks about his role in the company," Zucker wrote.

Zucker, who recently took the leadership role at CNN, has been making changes in the executive suite and with on-air personalities. In the past few months, managing editor Mark Whitaker and senior VP of communications Christa Robinson have departed.

Feder joined CNN in 2008 as the senior VP of current programming, and is the former news director for WABC-TV in New York.
