Kanye West, Set for 'SNL' Appearance This Weekend, Goes on a Profanity-Laced Rant Against Sketch Comedy THR
Kanye West is set to appear on this weekend's "Saturday Night Live," but in a profanity-laced rant while appearing at the Adult Swim upfront, made it clear he wouldn't do any sketches on the show, The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed reports.
West said a friend had asked him if he would do a "skit about the paparazzi" and "humanize" himself.
"I ain’t here to apologize to no [one], man. It ain’t about me humanizing myself,” was his retort, according to the story. “At what point did I become un-human where I had to turn myself back? Or maybe I was demonized. Or maybe I was treated inhumane and not human in that kind of situation.”
He also said: “Nah, I ain’t doing no f--king 'SNL' skits … this my … life. This ain’t no f--king joke. That’s it.”
Ben Affleck will host this Saturday's show, which is the season finale.
West also said during the upfront appearance: “One thing about me, I’m the worst kinda … celebrity because all I do is make real music. All I do is sit in the studio and make real, real s--t. That’s mother f--king it. … So I don’t want nobody trying to run up on me with no cameras, trying to sell pictures and s--t to magazines, asking me no dumbass questions, throwing me off my focus.”
Here’s a teaser for this weekend’s “SNL” -- which almost qualifies as West appearing in a sketch:
