Report: Ad Sales at NBC News Trending $100 Million Below Budget

May 20, 2013  •  Post A Comment

Advertising sales at NBC News are trending $100 million below budget, hurt by a ratings decline at "Today" in the key 25-to-54 demographic, reports the New York Post.

Because ABC’s "Good Morning America" is now regularly beating "Today," it may take some ad money away from the NBC program when upfront negotiations start, the story notes. Since 2011, ad sales at "Today" are down by at least $50 million, the piece notes.

Fixing the problems at NBC News is now up to incoming boss Deborah Turness, who became the first female editor of a U.K. news division when she took on the top role at ITV News. As we reported separately, Turness was named today as the new president of NBC News.
