What?!!? CNN and HLN Personalities Hold Split-Screen Interview in the Same Parking Lot Atlantic

In what’s being called "a bizarre television and spatial anomaly on CNN," the network aired a "satellite" interview between CNN's Ashleigh Banfield and HLN's Nancy Grace, who were updating viewers Tuesday morning about the Cleveland kidnapping story, with the two on-air personalities apparently only a few feet apart, the Atlantic reports.

"At first it seems like a normal TV 'remote,' as Banfield interviews Grace from another location,” the article reports. “Then the channel's graphics alert viewers: Both anchors are in Phoenix. That's odd. Also: They're both outdoors, sitting in what looks to be a parking lot. And is that same building behind them?"

The same cars can be seen passing along the street behind the two women, followed by the identical bus, the piece notes.

"It seems that Grace and Banfield are sitting in the same parking lot, facing in the same direction, and judging by the speed of the vehicles in their shots, they cannot be sitting more than 30 feet away from each other," the Atlantic points out.

While the women work for two different cable networks, CNN and HLN share the same corporate owner, the report notes. Grace and Banfield were in Phoenix to cover the Jody Arias murder trial.
