Dan Harmon Returns to ‘Community’ as Showrunner

Jun 3, 2013  •  Post A Comment

After a week of speculation it has become official that Dan Harmon, the creator of NBC’s cult favorite "Community," is returning to the series as showrunner, The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports.

Writer and executive producer Chris McKenna, who, like Harmon, left the series last year, is also returning to the show. The deals come after Harmon had let it slip recently that he was in talks to return, after he was fired by studio Sony Pictures Television last year, as previously reported.

Harmon will replace David Guarascio and Moses Port, who were brought in to oversee the show’s fourth season. The most recent season had been criticized by fans for having lost the edge it had under Harmon.

  1. I am overjoyed. This past season has been horrible. Harmon’s tweets this week have been funnier than anything on the show this past season. Also funny is this often used photo of Hamon which looks incredibly like a mugshot.
