With Warner Bros. film chief Jeff Robinov leaving the company and a shakeup in the company’s television unit, both sides of the business will now report to one executive, Kevin Tsujihara, who was recently appointed chief executive, reports The New York Times.

The changes in the Warner Bros. power structure represent a move from its long-standing practice of relying on separate movie and TV presidents to run those businesses, the story notes.

"Less than four months after taking over for Barry Meyer, Mr. Tsujihara, 48, will now have a half-dozen TV and movie executives reporting directly to him," The Times reports.

The report adds: "Warner said in an e-mail to employees on Monday that Mr. Robinov, who has been president of the studio’s movie operation, would “no longer serve” in that role. Four of Mr. Robinov’s lieutenants — Toby Emmerich, Dan Fellman, Sue Kroll and Greg Silverman — will instead begin reporting to Mr. Tsujihara."

The executive changes are likely more than simply a stopgap, even though the moves were quickly put into place after Robinov signaled he would be leaving, The Times notes. The report adds that the circumstances around Robinov’s departure are "still unclear."
