Michael Jackson's Daughter in 'Possible Suicide Attempt' USA Today, TMZ
The 15-year-old daughter of the late pop superstar Michael Jackson was hospitalized early today in what has been reported as a “possible suicide attempt,” USA Today reports.
Paris Jackson was reportedly out of physical danger and remained in the hospital at midday today.
“Paris was taken out of her Calabasas family house on a stretcher at around 2 a.m. and taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” TMZ.com reported. “The 911 call came in at 1:27 a.m. We're told the caller reported a possible overdose, although a source connected to the emergency response said there were multiple cuts on one of her wrists.”
Paris posted some pointed tweets Tuesday night, TMZ noted, including: "I wonder why tears are salty?" ... and "yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay."
One source reportedly said Paris “threw a fit” Tuesday night after being told she could not go to a Marilyn Manson concert, but other sources later indicated it was a false report.
USA Today adds: “The King of Pop's ex-wife and Paris' mom, Debbie Rowe, tells Entertainment Tonight that Paris, 15, was ‘rushed to the hospital with cuts on her wrist.’ Rowe tells ET that Jackson has had ‘a lot going on (lately).’
“Paris recently rekindled her relationship with ... Rowe and has been spending time with her for the first time since Michael and Debbie divorced in 1999. Mom and daughter were spotted celebrating Paris' 15th birthday at Ahi Sushi in Studio City, Calif., on April 3.”
Katherine Jackson's lawyer, Perry Sanders, released a statement saying: "Being a sensitive 15-year-old is difficult no matter who you are. It is especially difficult when you lose the person closest to you. Paris is physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention. Please respect her privacy and the family's privacy."
