The AMC drama "Mad Men" drew record ratings for its sixth-season finale Sunday. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the telecast drew about 2.7 million total viewers and a 2.1 average household rating.

While the viewer number was even with last year’s result, the household rating average was the highest ever for the show, by one-tenth of a ratings point, the piece notes.

"The audience for ‘Mad Men’ is getting slightly older, which is not surprising for a TV series in its sixth season. The episode drew 1.3 million adults in the key demographic of ages 25 to 54, down 7% from last season," the piece notes.

AMC pointed out that the show continues to score as the "most upscale" drama on cable, with its viewers including the highest proportion of wealthy households.
