Awkward: A Rambling Princess Leia, Talking All About Drugs, Presents George Lucas With His First Emmy. It's the Wild and Crazy Daytime Emmy Awards. We Have a List of All the Winners New York Daily News, CBS News, Associated Press and TVWeek
"A rambling Carrie Fisher stole the show at the gaffe-riddled 40th annual Daytime Emmy Awards show on Sunday night, June 16, 2013," reports the New York Daily News.
The story continues, "Fisher was there to present the award for Best Animated Show -- ultimately collected by George Lucas for 'Clone Wars.'
"But before Fisher read the nominees, the actress said 'Hi, I’m Carrie, I’m an alcoholic. And a drug addict.' Then she said hello to Ozzy Osbourne, who was seated at her feet in the front row."
Fisher continued, according to the story: “Our nominees take us into worlds we have never seen before. Unless, like Ozzy and myself, you have taken acid. We have the same dealer, in which case this category doesn’t apply to you. Our nominees have not taken acid, at least not with me, which really is the only way to do it, as most of you know.” [Fisher] then nodded at the still-seated Lucas, 'Right, George?' ”

The article adds, "Despite some awkward moments and a string of technical gaffes, trophies went to 'Days of Our Lives,' which notched the big award for Best Drama, and 'CBS News Sunday Morning,' which won for Best Morning Show, beating 'Good Morning America' and 'Today.'"
One of the show's big mistakes was reported by CBS News and the Associated Press:
"In a major gaffe, Aisha Tyler of 'The Talk' was presenting outstanding talk show, informative, when she opened the envelope and quickly realized she had been given the wrong one.'Oh, interestingly enough, this winner is not in this category,' she said. 'If I read it out I'm going to give another category away.'
"The audience at the Beverly Hilton hotel gasped and Tyler vamped while waiting to be given the correct envelope from the wings. 'There better be a cocktail waiting on my table,' Tyler said.
"She then announced 'The Dr. Oz Show' as the winner.
" 'It's like saying, "Whoops," in the operating room,' Dr. Mehmet Oz said backstage about the goof-up."
Other winners included "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" for best entertainment talk show and Ricki Lake for best talk show host. As previously reported, Lake's show has already been canceled due to low ratings. "The Price Is Right" topped the game show category.
