'Breaking Bad' Companion Talk Show Names Host LA Times
AMC's new companion show for "Breaking Bad" has named a host. The Los Angeles Times' Show Tracker reports that "Talking Bad" will be hosted by Chris Hardwick, who hosted a similar companion show called "Talking Dead," which was all about AMC's zombie show "The Walking Dead."
The 30-minute episodes of "Talking Bad" will recap each episode in the AMC crime drama's final season, which consists of eight episodes and will premiere Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. Hardwick will also host celebrity guests who either are linked to the show or are fans, the piece reports.
His "Talking Dead" show earned strong ratings, with numbers in the 18-49 demographic that were bigger than some popular prime-time shows, the piece notes.
"Talking Bad" will air after each episode of "Breaking Bad."
"An after-show hosted by Chris seemed like the perfect way to pay homage to and count down the final eight episodes of 'Breaking Bad,' giving fans the opportunity to come together and talk about the end of this iconic series brought to life by creator Vince Gilligan and his amazing cast and crew," said Joel Stillerman, AMC's executive vice president of original programming, production and digital content, in a statement.
AMC announced initial plans for "Talking Bad" back in April when it rolled out plans for a slate of new programs, as previously reported.
