An NBC project from Warner Bros. TV and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions has lost its showrunner, with Mark Friedman departing "Believe" on his own accord, Deadline.com reports.

The parting was agreeable, the story notes. While Friedman, who is also the co-creator, is leaving, the show’s other co-creator, Alfonso Cuaron, will remain as executive producer with J.J. Abrams. TheWrap.com reports that the departure was due to "creative differences," and that a search is on for a showrunner to replace Friedman.

The project is about a 10-year-old girl with special powers, who ends up protected by a former death-row inmate.
