Starting Today, Netflix Will Start Showing Reruns of Fox’s Highest-Rated Sitcom

Netflix has acquired the rights to show reruns of the highest-rated sitcom Fox now airs. 

"The streaming service and Fox have inked a multi-year deal to bring ‘New Girl’ to the subscription-based digital outlet," reports Deadline.com, adding, "The first season of the Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV-produced series from creator Liz Meriwether will be available July 1 with subsequent cycles like the recently ended Season 2 to follow after their broadcast season is complete."

Regarding season one of "New Girl" the story says, "Debuting on September 20, 2011, ‘New Girl’ ended up being the 12th-highest-rated series overall among adults 18-49 of the 2011-2012 season with a 4.2/11 result. It was the second-highest-ranking new series of that season among the key demo."

Fox TV Distribution Executive Vice President of Worldwide Pay TV and Video on Demand Gina Brogi said in a statement: "We are delighted that Netflix viewers will now have the opportunity to enjoy this remarkable comedy. As a leader in digital distribution, Netflix is an important partner for us. We are thrilled to continue building our relationship with them.”
