One of the stars of Fox’s "Fringe" has joined a drama project at Showtime. Deadline.com reports that the Showtime pilot "The Affair" added Joshua Jackson, who played Peter Bishop on the Fox science-fiction drama.

"The Affair" is about two marriages and an affair that shakes them, as it tracks the consequences from the infidelity, the story says. Dominic West will play a father of four who has an affair with Allison, who is married to Cole, a cowboy played by Jackson.

The cult favorite "Fringe" ended its five-year run earlier this year.
