Leah Remini Files Missing Person Report on Wife of Scientology Leader

Former "King of Queens" actress Leah Remini, who publicly broke from the Church of Scientology last month, has filed a missing person report with the police on the wife of the organization’s leader, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige, allegedly hasn’t been seen in public in six years, the story notes.

As previously reported, Remini broke from the church after she reportedly threatened to call the police about the whereabouts of Shelly Miscavige. She questioned the church leader about her whereabouts at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ 2006 wedding, reportedly leading to Remini’s receiving "thought modification" from the church for five years.

A representative for the church denied that the leader’s wife is missing, telling TMZ that the missing person report "is a publicity stunt cooked up by a small band of unemployed fanatics who live on the fringe of the Internet."

"The Church and the attorney for Mrs. Miscavige have already responded to this ludicrous claim — as you noted yourself in your story," the representative said.

The TMZ story includes this: "According to a report on the Hollywood Reporter, Shelly hasn’t made a public appearance in six years — though in 2012, her attorneys issued a statement saying, ‘Any reports that [Shelly] is missing are false.’"

  1. They’re right – she’s not ‘missing’. They know exactly where they buried the body.
