Lindsay Lohan will be a part of a TV series that focuses on a self-destructive lead character whose career was derailed at least in part by drugs.

TMZ.com reports that Lohan was cast in the series finale of HBO’s "Eastbound & Down." The fourth season of the show, which HBO has said will be its last, is set to premiere Sept. 29. (Spoiler alert.)

The show revolves around washed-up Major League pitcher Kenny Powers, played by Danny McBride. Lohan will play the adult version of Powers’ illegitimate daughter on the show, and is currently taping on set, the story says.

The casting marks a significant opportunity for Lohan, as it’s her first real acting role since she left rehab. A spinoff could be in the works if she’s funny in the role, the piece notes.

The story adds, "Kenny’s baby seemed destined to become Lindsay Lohan. If you recall, Kenny stashed his bong and all sorts of sex toys in the baby’s room at the end of last season."
