In what is being reported as potentially the biggest commitment for a comedy project so far this development season, Deadline.com reports that NBC has bought a project from "Happy Endings" creator David Caspe and Jamie Tarses.

Called "Marry Me," the project also has Seth Gordon of "The King of Kong" attached to direct and executive produce. Tarses, the former head of ABC’s entertainment division, will executive produce the Sony Pictures TV project.

The project created a bidding war when it went out two weeks ago, and has earned a pilot production commitment from NBC as well as a full license fee and series penalty, the story reports.

"’Marry Me’ centers on a young couple who get engaged, something they quickly realize is harder than it looks," the report adds.
