The producers of the Academy Awards telecast named the host today for next year’s ceremony, and the selection indicates they aren’t interested in repeating the controversy surrounding this year’s broadcast and host Seth MacFarlane.

Instead, producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are "going traditional" this time around and bringing back Ellen DeGeneres. The ceremony is set to air on ABC on Sunday, March 2, 2014.

This will be the second go-round for DeGeneres as Oscars host, after she hosted the 2007 ceremony. She has also hosted the Emmy Awards and Grammy Awards multiple times.

In a statement, Zadan and Meron said: “We are thrilled to have Ellen DeGeneres host the Oscars. As a longtime friend, we had always hoped to find a project for us to do together, and nothing could be more exciting than teaming up to do the Oscars. There are few stars today who have Ellen’s gift for comedy, with her great warmth and humanity."

DeGeneres quipped: “I am so excited to be hosting the Oscars for the second time. You know what they say — the third time’s the charm."

DeGeneres has been on the receiving end of her share of awards too, including a staggering 45 Daytime Emmys for her syndicated talk show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
