Sony Pictures TV Fills Key Executive Post

Sony Pictures Television has filled a key executive position. The company announced the appointment of a new senior VP, marketing, U.S. distribution, promoting Rachel Mizuno to the post.

Sheraton Kalouria, executive vice president & chief marketing officer, SPT, mad the announcement. Mizuno will report to Kalouria.

Mizuno has responsibility for all marketing efforts in support of SPT’s first-run and off-net syndication, SVOD, cable and broadcast sales businesses, including overseeing affiliate marketing, media strategy, consumer marketing and promotional campaigns, the company said.

Said Kalouria: “Rachel’s rich experience in the television industry and her commitment to innovation are key to our marketing efforts. Her deep understanding of the U.S. broadcast syndication business and her exceptional affiliate relationships will help SPT achieve its business goals.”

Mizuno is a 19-year veteran of the television industry, who began at KSBW-TV in Monterey, Calif., and KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo. After relocating to Los Angeles she worked in sales for Columbia Tristar Television Distribution. She worked in station relations on "The Donny & Marie Show" and was later promoted to director, affiliate marketing and then executive director, affiliate marketing.

Most recently she has been vice president, marketing, overseeing SPT’s affiliate marketing department and developing and managing promotion and media plans for more than 1,200 television stations. She has overseen campaigns involving "The Dr. Oz Show," "Seinfeld" and "The Queen Latifah Show," which launches in September, among other programs.
