A shakeup has taken place at the top of the rankings for the most-visited websites in the U.S. Citing the latest report from comScore, USA Today reports that Yahoo knocked Google out of its spot to rank as the country’s most-visited Web property in July.

"Yahoo received 196.6 million unique visitors last month, compared to 192.3 million for Google. This is the first time Yahoo has returned to the top spot for U.S. web traffic since May 2011, comScore tells Marketing Land," the story reports.

The report notes that the total does not include figures from Tumblr, which was acquired by Yahoo earlier this year for $1 billion.

"Yahoo’s return to the top is another victory during the tenure of Marissa Mayer, who recently marked her first year as the company’s CEO," the story reports. "Shares of Yahoo have nearly doubled in value since she took over."

Rounding out the top five most-visited Web properties, according to the report, are Microsoft properties, Facebook and AOL.
