Tuesday Ratings: NBC Gets By on 'Talent' Alone TVbytheNumbers
NBC aired just one fresh program in Tuesday's prime-time lineup, but it was easily enough to lift the Peacock Network to a win for the night against depleted competition, based on Nielsen overnights for the key 18-49 demo.
TVbytheNumbers.com reports that NBC's two hour installment of "America's Got Talent" was by far the top program of the night on broadcast, even as it slipped 4% from last week to a 2.4 average rating in viewers 18-49. NBC opened prime time with a repeat installment of "Hollywood Game Night," which managed a 1.1.
The closest competition among English-language broadcast nets came from Fox, whose two-hour "So You Think You Can Dance" dipped 7% from a week ago to a 1.3 in 18-49.
Head-to-head against "Dance," ABC's two-hour "Extreme Weight Loss" lost 6% from the previous week to settle for a 1.1 in the 18-49 demo.
CBS aired an all-repeat drama lineup and finished in fifth place for the night among the broadcast networks.
For prime time overall, NBC's 1.9 average led the way in adults 18-49, followed by Fox (1.3 average), Univision (1.3), ABC (1.0) and CBS (0.8). NBC led total viewers by a narrower margin, averaging 6.9 million to top CBS (6.0 million), Fox (3.9 million), ABC (3.3 million) and Univision (3.2 million).
