'Underwhelming' Title Revealed for 'Sharknado' Sequel THR
The title for Syfy's "Sharknado" sequel has been revealed, and it's what The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed calls "an underwhelming name."
The sequel for the original Syfy movie will be called "Sharknado 2: The Second One," the story says. It's scheduled to premiere in 2014 and will be set in New York City.
Fans weren't all that fond of the new title, with "Mortal Kombat" co-creator Ed Boon tweeting, "Sharknado 2: The Second One. Really? That's the title of the sequel? Why not just call it 'Sharknado 2 1/2' while you're at it ?"
THR offered a few suggestions that it believes have "more, um, bite" than the sequel's title. They include: "Sharknado 2: Sharkz in the Hood" and "Sharknado 2: Sharks Take Manhattan."
