VH1 has hired a veteran television programming executive who worked for years at Fox as its new programming chief. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the cable network has placed Susan Levison, who was most recently at FishBowl Worldwide Media, in the post.

She replaces Jeff Olde as the network’s executive vice president original programming and production. Olde left VH1 to take over the programming job at E!, the piece notes.

Levison will be based in Los Angeles and will oversee all original programming currently on the network, as well as development for both coasts. She will report to VH1 President Tom Calderone.

“Susan’s proven expertise in crafting engaging stories with strong characters in reality formats and scripted dramas and comedies makes her a perfect match for VH1 and our successful mix of music, pop culture, humor and nostalgia programming,” Calderone said.

At FishBowl, she sold unscripted series such as "Toned Up" to Bravo and "Off Beat" to Fuse. Before that, she served as senior vice president comedy development at Fox, where she shepherded shows including "The Cleveland Show" and "Bob’s Burgers."
