A novel by Anne Rice is in development at CBS, EW.com’s Inside TV reports. The network has ordered a drama script based on her 2009 book "Angel Time," the story reports.

Rice, the writer of best-selling novels such as "Interview With the Vampire," will be an executive producer on the project. She will be joined by Sarah Timberman of "Masters of Sex," Carl Beverly and Joe Carnahan of "The A-Team." Carnahan will direct the pilot if the project reaches that stage in the development process.

The novel is about an assassin who’s given another chance by an angel, and sent back to 13th century England to save a Jewish couple who are wrongly accused of murder.
