Cable Drama Series Canceled

A basic cable network has made the decision to cancel a drama series. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that TNT canceled the Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn drama "King & Maxwell" after just one season.

The drama aired starting in June, and was part of TNT’s summer lineup, the story notes. While it drew 3.5 million viewers for its premiere, that was considerably down from its lead-in, "Major Crimes." Over the course of its summer run, "King & Maxwell" drew an average of 3.1 million viewers.

"The series did not rank high in the cable network’s big roster of summer launches that also included ‘Falling Skies,’" the piece notes. Except for "Franklin & Bash," which remains on the bubble, all of TNT’s other summer scripted originals have been picked up.
