AMC, where the zombie series "The Walking Dead" has been a monster hit, plans to add another zombie show to its lineup. The new series will launch in 2015, writes Bill Carter in The New York Times.
"The network announced on Monday that Robert Kirkman, who wrote the comic book series that inspired the television show, will develop the new version, which is still untitled," the story notes.
Other members of the team behind the hit AMC show will also be involved in the new series, including producers Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert.
"The opportunity to make a show that isn’t tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing," Kirkman said.
The news comes after AMC earlier this month said it’s developing a spinoff of one of its current hits, "Breaking Bad." As previously reported, the new show, "Better Call Saul," will focus on the drama’s ethically challenged attorney, Saul Goodman.
