Former reality star Jon Gosselin has come a long way — some would say a long way down — from when he was riding high as one of the stars of a top-rated TV show. ET Online reports that Gosselin’s new job is waiting tables at the Black Dog restaurant in Beckersville, Pa.
His current gig comes only a few years after his run on the top-rated TLC reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which became "Kate Plus 8" for its final two seasons before ending its run in 2011. Jon and Kate Gosselin went through a messy divorce in 2009.
After the couple divorced and the show wrapped, Gosselin said he found it almost impossible to get back into the work force.
"At first I was nervous because I was like, ‘How are people going to react?’" Jon said about his waitering job. "But then I’m thinking, ‘Well it’s fun and I get to talk to people.’ And they technically already know me … they’re like ‘Are you the guy?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m the guy.’"
Gosselin, who lived in a $1.3 million home when he and Kate were featured on the show, now lives in a cabin in the wilderness, the story reports. He said he doesn’t have an Internet connection or television, and he lives on his restaurant earnings, the piece adds.
