Detroit native Eminem joined ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit and Brent Musburger at halftime of the Michigan-Notre Dame game, and according to Business Insider, “it was deeply weird.”

The rapper “seemed spaced out and was sparse with his words at first,” the story reports.

Herbstreit, sensing the interview was not going well, urged the production team to send it to commercial after a minute or two.

"Live TV freaks me out a little bit," Eminem said.

“Eminem got a little more responsive when they came back from commercial,” the story notes, “but it was still awkward.”

Musburger tried to get the rapper to talk about gambling and the Detroit Lions, and Eminem finished the segment “by talking about how he has Musburger on his announcer fantasy team," the piece reports.

The rapper ended the interview by saying he was “really uncomfortable right now.” Eminem was on the broadcast to promote his new album.

  1. Awkward is putting it nicely. Felt so sorry for Kirk Herbstreit and Brent Musburger. they couldn’t even get him to promote his new album!

  2. I’d say he was definitely on something based on how he was looking, and one has to ask, what the f does he have to do with a football game? I think Mussberger is long overdue for retirement.
