Behind-the-Scenes Shakeup Hits Late-Night Talk Show Deadline
A late-night talk show has been hit with a behind-the-scenes shakeup. Deadline.com reports that the drama is playing out at "The Arsenio Hall Show" just four weeks after its debut.
Executive producer Neal Kendall stepped down from the CBS Television Distribution-produced show, with his last day on Friday, the story says. He will be replaced on an interim basis by Eric Pankowski, the senior vice president of programming and development at CTD.
According to the story, "After a blazing-hot start, 'Arsenio' has retreated in the ratings but has been relatively stable and still does OK in the demos (though a commenter noted that the show hit an 18-49 low in the metered markets on Thursday, the day before the EP exit)."
The change was made as a "proactive move to shore up the show’s long-term prospects with the right fit in the key position," the story says.
