Comedian's New Show Lands at ABC THR
ABC has bought a comedy from a stand-up comedian who has been making a name for himself with TV roles, feature films and comedy tours. The comedian, Kevin Hart, is likely to appear in a recurring role in the project, The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed reports.
The network gave a put pilot commitment to the project, which is based on Hart's stand-up routine and will look at the life of a couple after a divorce. The project is from "Community's" Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan. Hart does not plan to star, but is expected to have a recurring role, the piece adds.
Hart stars on BET's "Real Husbands of Hollywood," which he also executive produces. He has a string of appearances on TV series, including ABC's "Modern Family."
His stand-up tours sell out at top venues -- he reportedly grossed $15 million from his 2011 "Laugh at My Pain" tour -- and his latest live concert video, "Let Me Explain," grossed $32 million, the piece reports.
