An Oscar-winning actor wrote a gushing fan letter to "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the letter was from Anthony Hopkins, who played Hannibal Lecter in "Silence of the Lambs."

The letter was posted by Cranston on his Facebook page, but it was later removed, the story says. Hopkins’ note was meant to be shared with the cast and crew.

"Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen — ever," Hopkins wrote. "I know there is so much smoke blowing and sickening … in this business, and I’ve sort of lost belief in anything really. But this work of yours is spectacular — absolutely stunning."

Hopkins’ Oscar-winning 1991 portrayal of Lecter was voted as the No. 1 movie villain by the American Film Institute.
