The troubled Martin Scorsese-Mick Jagger project at HBO could get some help from one of the key players behind AMC’s "Breaking Bad." Deadline.com reports that George Mastras, the co-executive producer of "Breaking Bad," has signed a two-year overall deal with HBO and is talks to join the rock ‘n’ roll production.

As we reported Thursday, the Scorsese-Jagger project has run into some turbulence behind the scenes, with the effort losing its showrunners this week over differences in creative direction. The project tracks a record executive in 1970s New York City.

Mastras would potentially serve as the project’s new showrunner, the story says. "According to HBO, Mastras is in talks on a number of HBO projects, including the rock ‘n’ roll drama," the piece notes.
