FX is bringing back a heavily honored drama series for another season, with the show’s star also tapped to return. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the cable net ordered a fourth season of "American Horror Story."

Star Jessica Lange will also be back, with her current contract extending through season four, Deadline.com reports. Lange has been on board since season one, winning an Emmy in 2012 for her work on the show.

The series, which focuses on a different set of characters each season, has been pulling an audience that’s 87% larger than last season, the Times reports. So far, the third season is drawing an average of 7.74 million viewers.

"Additionally, the decision to cast it as a series of miniseries and not a traditional drama has paid off well for FX at the 2013 Emmys, where Season 2’s ‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ grabbed 17 nominations, the most of any single program. The series has received a total of 34 nominations and four Emmy wins," the Times adds.
