Music Manager Demands Retraction From VH1 Over 'False and Defamatory Statements' THR
VH1 has been asked to retract statements contained in a music biopic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The demand comes from Perri "Pebbles" Reid, the former manager of the music group TLC, who wants VH1 to retract statements in its TLC biopic "CrazySexyCool."
"The movie contains many false and defamatory statements and scenes about me," Reid wrote on her website. She added: "Please know that I have never cheated or mislead anyone. I will defend my reputation, accomplishments, and character. My attorney is in the process of demanding a retraction of the false and defamatory statements and scenes about me from VH1."
Reid, the ex-wife of L.A. Reid, said she found the movie "extremely personally upsetting." The biopic portrays her as a "parasite who knowingly swindled millions from the group," the article adds.
TLC's current manager, Bill Diggins, said the movie is accurate, the piece adds.
"[They] told [their story] accurately and they told it in a way that, at some points, wasn't so flattering to them," he said.
