Journalist Ray Suarez, a veteran of PBS and NPR, is joining Al Jazeera America. The Huffington Post reports that Suarez announced the news today in a tweet.

Suarez will be the host of the cable news channel’s "Inside Story."

"Earlier in October, Suarez announced that he was leaving PBS after 14 years on the network’s flagship ‘NewsHour.’ He told told Fox News Latino that he did not see ‘much of a future’ with the network, although he did claim that his departure was not bitter and that he left ‘on good terms,’" the story reports.

The piece adds: "Suarez also told Fox News Latino that he still has ‘one more high-demand, high-stress job in me.’ Perhaps this new endeavor will be just that."

In a press release from Al Jazeera America, Suarez says: "This is an exciting time to be joining Al Jazeera America and a great opportunity for me personally. This is exactly what I wanted to do: host a program that provides viewers with a close look at the day’s news and the issues they care about the most without the partisan rancor that you often see and hear elsewhere on television."
