A new Fox series premiered to solid numbers Sunday night while an ABC show sank to a historic low, based on Nielsen overnights for the key 18-49 demo. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that Fox’s "Almost Human" delivered a 3.1 average in the demo, the best number for any non-football programming in Fox’s Sunday prime-time lineup.

ABC’s "Once Upon a Time" continued to erode, sinking to a series-low 1.9 in 18-49.

Fox finished a strong second on the night, trailing only NBC’s dominant "Sunday Night Football" coverage. Fox’s lineup got a bump from football overrun.

NBC finished well out in front of its broadcast rivals on the strength of its NFL programming. The Peacock Network averaged a 7.5 for prime time in viewers 18-49, with Fox second with a 3.8 average. CBS trailed with a 1.6, followed by ABC (1.4) and Univision (1.2).

NBC dominated in total viewers as well, averaging 20.8 million for prime time to lead Fox (10.4 million), CBS (10.0 million), ABC (5.6 million) and Univision (3.3 million).

NBC’s "Sunday Night Football" showdown between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs averaged a 9.1 rating in 18-49, well ahead of last week’s preliminary 7.0 average.

On Fox, "The Simpsons" managed a 1.8 average in the 18-49 demo, the same as last week. The show aired at 8 p.m. last week but was bumped to 9 p.m. Sunday. "Family Guy" rose two-tenths of a ratings point to a 2.2.

The CBS prime-time lineup was down from last week: "60 Minutes" fell to a 1.7 average in viewers 18-49 after scoring a football-inflated 3.1 a week ago. "The Amazing Race" ticked down two-tenths to a 2.0, "The Good Wife" lost three-tenths to settle for a 1.4, and "The Mentalist" inched down one-tenth to a 1.3.

ABC’s best number in 18-49 was a 1.9 for "Once Upon a Time," but that number was a series low and a drop of two-tenths from last week.

The rest of the ABC lineup was up: "America’s Funniest Home Videos" rose one-tenth from last week to a 1.4 in 18-49, "Revenge" ticked up two-tenths to a 1.5, and "Betrayal" inched up one-tenth to a 0.9. Both "Revenge" and "Betrayal" bounced back from series lows a week ago.
