A studio has bought the rights to a 1976 novel about vampires from space, which is set to be adapted for television. Deadline.com reports that Ringleader Studios obtained the rights to "The Space Vampires," by British author Colin Wilson.

The novel has previously been adapted as a movie — the 1985 film “Lifeforce,” which starred Patrick Stewart, Steve Railsback and Mathilda May.

“Ringleader is plotting a small-screen episodic series, also titled ‘Lifeforce,’ as well as a graphic novel, video game, and additional media tie-ins," the story reports. "Plot follows a group of astronauts who discover a derelict spaceship and return to Earth with three humanoid aliens that unleash a life-sucking plague upon humanity."

  1. The book was good, the picture OK. I’m inclined to wait and see if they muck it up.
