CBS has cast one of the stars of the long-running supernatural drama series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” in a new half-hour pilot. Deadline.com reports that actress Michelle Trachtenberg, who played Dawn Summers on "Buffy," is joining “Save the Date."

Trachtenberg will play opposite Maggie Lawson’s Kate, who has booked a wedding venue and now wants to meet the right man before the event date. Trachtenberg will play Kate’s no-nonsense sister Hillary, who is also her roommate.

Other cast members include Tom Bennett and Julie White, with Bennett playing Hillary’s boyfriend and White portraying Kate and Hillary’s mother.
